BY and AY (Before and After Yoga) – My Personal Top 4

My life has changed significantly since I started practicing yoga, but I’ve never really sat down and thought about the specifics. So here they are. I’m sure it’s different for everyone, but if any of these inspire you to take a leap of faith and to start practicing, return to practicing or continuing to practice, then my work is done. 1. BY – Corporate job – great company, great people, great benefits  but a lots of stress and no time for anything but work. AY – Yoga teacher, studio manager, Go Give Yoga (non-profit kids yoga) volunteer – great job, great people and time for what’s important in my life. I’m still busy, but doing stuff that I enjoy and that I hope will make a difference. 2. Wanting what I have, not wanting what I don’t have – one of the messages that resonated most strongly with me in Jack Kornfield’s book “A Path with Heart – A Guide Through the Perils and Promises of Spiritual Life“.  BY – I used to yearn for the bigger  house, the smart clothes and exotic vacations.  AY – Granted I don’t have to dress up for work anymore, but my shopping habit is greatly reduced and what cooler place to live and vacation than New Buffalo, MI? 3. Accepting that the Universe actually does provide. BY – I didn’t believe that this could happen AY –  So many wonderful people and opportunities have come into my life at just the right time – it’s more than just a coincidence.
